Synthesis, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities of sulfone linked bis heterocycles

► Oxadiazoles having sulfonamide and olefin moieties were synthesized. ► We have synthesized pyrrolyl/pyrazolyl oxadiazoles, thiadiazoles and triazoles. ► Compound 3c exhibited good cytotoxic activity on A549 lung carcinoma cells. ► Thiadiazoles and triazoles showed more antimicrobial activity than oxadiazoles.
