Polyindole top coat on TiO2 sol-gel films for corrosion protection of steel

► Polyindole top coating was electrochemically synthesized on TiO2 sol-gel coated stainless steel. ► The high protection was determined against corrosion; it was attributed to the adherent adsorption of the multilayer. ► Quantum calculations showed, there were a correlation experimental data and molecular parameters.
