Cell response and corrosion behavior of electrodeposited diamond-like carbon films on nanostructured titanium

► Among DLC films, those obtained from acetonitrile show highest corrosion resistance. ► Electrodeposited DLC films present high nanohardness. ► DLC films copy the morphologic structure of the nanostrucuted Ti surface. ► The nanostructured Ti surface increases the biocompatibility compared to flat Ti. ► DLC films do not alter the biocompatibility of nanostrucutured Ti samples.
