► The corrosion behaviour of superplastic Zn-Al alloys has been studied. ► The Al-rich phase is prone to preferential attack. ► As the ratio of the Al phase increasing, the corrosion rates decrease. ► The corrosion kinetic parameters of Zn-Al alloys have been calculated.
