Fabrication and thermal shock resistance of in situ SiC nanowire-SiC/SiC coating for carbon/carbon composites

► An in situ SiC NW-SiC coating was produced by pack cementation. ► SiC NWS were distributed uniformly on SiC coating via VLS mechanism. ► After introducing SiC NWS, weight loss of samples decreased after thermal cycling.
