Some physical properties of (Bi2O3)x(BaO)0.5−x(B2O3)0.5 glasses

▶ Structural units of BaBi2B4O10, BiBO3 and BaB2O4 compounds form the glasses network. ▶ New values of the optical band gap of prepared glasses were determined at around 3.4 eV. ▶ Using new optical band gap values the non-linear refractive index is estimated up to 0.9 × 10−11 esu.
