Effect of Mo coating on the interface and mechanical properties of SiC fiber reinforced Ti6Al4V composites

► Mo coating was used as interfacial modification layer of SiC/Ti6Al4V composites. ► The interfacial products sequence is: Mo coating |TiC|Mo + β-Ti|β-Ti|β-Ti + α-Tistrip. ► σb of the composite is greatly improved as Mo coating hindered interfacial reaction. ► Mo coating has excellent thermal stability when temperature is below 700 °C.
