Preparation of photovoltaic absorption material Cu2FeSnSe4 microparticles via an atmospheric pressure liquid reflux method

Cu2FeSnSe4 (CFTSe) microparticles were successfully synthesized by an atmospheric pressure liquid reflux method in triethylenetetramine for the first time. The structure of prepared CFTSe microparticles was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectra. The results clearly showed that the synthesized CFTSe microparticles had a single-phase stannite structure. The morphology and chemical composition of CFTSe microparticles were confirmed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The ratio of Cu/Fe/Sn/Se was about 2.00:0.88:1.02:4.29. Moreover, the prepared products with the size of 0.4-0.6 µm were spherical. Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV-vis) analysis showed that the energy band gap was 1.47 eV. It indicated that the synthesized CFTSe microparticles were suitable for solar cell applications as absorption material.
