Surface-bound tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum nanowires with high electron transportation and strong fluorescence emission

► Alq3 nanowires were fabricated by an adsorbent-assisted PVD. ► The as-deposited nanowires are surface-bound and single crystalline. ► The CL spectrum exhibits a strong fluorescence emission at 497 nm. ► The CAFM image reveals a high electron-transporting ability.
