Morphology, photocleaning and water wetting properties of cotton fabrics, modified with titanium dioxide coatings synthesized with plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique

► Photocleaning TiO2 coatings were placed onto cotton fabric using RF PECVD method. ► RF power of discharge was used as an operational parameter of deposition. ► The best coatings remain stable after washing in a detergent solution. ► TiO2 coating changes fiber surface character from hydrophilic to hydrophobic. ► UV illumination of coated fabric changes its surface back to strongly hydrophilic.
