Laser treatment of nanocomposite Ni/Ti multilayer thin films in air

► Modifications of nano-composite 5x(Ni/Ti)/Si were induced by picoseconds laser pulses. ► Oxide layer was formed at the surface to a thickness of 40 nm. ► Regular rippled patterns with a period of 0.78 μm and the height from 5 to 15 nm were obtained.
