Crystalline vanadium nitride ultra-thin films obtained at room temperature by pulsed laser deposition

► Vanadium nitride (VN) ultra-thin films are synthesised by pulsed laser deposition technique. ► Crystalline and dense VN films could be deposited at room temperature using a VN target. ► The temperature and substrate type influence the film morphology and thickness.
