Fabrication of oxidation protective coatings on C/C-SiC brake materials at room temperature

► Protective coatings on the C/C-SiC composites were prepared at room temperature. ► The coatings showed excellent oxidation resistance at 400 °C and 700 °C in air. ► The coatings exhibited excellent thermal shock resistance in air. ► This process could be an in-field repair technology for C/C-SiC brake disks.
