Ag-surfaces sputtered by DC and pulsed DC-magnetron sputtering effective in bacterial inactivation: Testing and characterization

► The E. coli inactivation ton Ag polyester was a function of the DC and DC-pulsed sputtering energies. ► Higher sputtering energies in both cases reduced the E. coli inactivation times. ► TEM shows a larger Ag-coverage for the full fiber by DC-Pulsed sputtering compared to DC-sputtering.
