Fabrication of an oxidation-resistant β-NiAl coating on γ-TiAl

► A β-NiAl coating was developed on γ-TiAl using EPD and HP. ► The coating was well diffusion bonded to the substrate. ► The coating formed an alumina scale during oxidation in air at 900 °C. ► Adherent scale formed when the coating was dispersed with Y2O3 nanoparticles. ► Degradation of the coating during HP and oxidation is not significant.
