Yttria coating synthesized by reactive flame spray process using Y-EDTA complex

► Metal ethylenediaminetetraacetic (EDTA) complexes were applied to the flame spray method as raw materials. ► A micrometer-thick yttria film was deposited by C2H2 flame from a Y-EDTA complex powder. ► The reactive flame spray process using Y-EDTA complex was realized to obtain thick metal oxide films with low energy consumption at a low cost.
