Cs-137 and Cs-134 removal from radioactive ash using washing-electrokinetic equipment

► 87-89% of 134Cs and 137Cs in radioactive ash were removed by three washings. ► Electro-decontamination for 8-10 days lowered the radioactivity of ash below 2 Bq/g. ► Electrokinetic decontamination efficiency for 6.5 h-4.3 day was the highest. ► Electrokinetic decontamination efficiency after 7.2 days promptly became low.
