Multiphase compositional modelling of CO2 injection under subcritical conditions: The impact of dissolution and phase transitions between liquid and gaseous CO2 on reservoir temperature

► We model sub-critical three-phase flows of water, liquid CO2 and gaseous CO2. ► We propose a new approach for multiphase compositional reservoir simulations. ► We consider nonisothermal flows of CO2-H2O mixture in shallow reservoirs. ► The temperature in reservoir can considerably decrease because of CO2 evaporation.
