Comparison of two electrolyte models for the carbon capture with aqueous ammonia

► We compare the performance of two thermodynamic models for the system CO2-NH3-H2O. ► Solid-liquid equilibrium and speciation are poorly described by e-NRTL. ► Extended UNIQUAC performs better than e-NRTL for most of the properties investigated. ► We compare the results from process simulation of the capture process with both models. ► We interpret the difference in the results of the process simulation.
