Pilot plant study of four new solvents for post combustion carbon dioxide capture by reactive absorption and comparison to MEA

► Four new PCC solvents are tested in a pilot plant using a consistent procedure. ► Two strategies are suggested to have a better ranking of the solvents. ► A strategy for identifying the influence of kinetics on the results is proposed. ► Based on these strategies two solvents are found to be promising, when compared to MEA.
