Experimental investigation on the effect of addition of amine activators to aqueous solutions of N-methyldiethanolamine on the rate of carbon dioxide absorption

► Evaluation of the performance of different activators added to aqueous MDEA solution for CO2 absorption is performed. ► The compounds that have been considered as activators are: DIPA, AMP, DGA, PZ and AEEA. ► Different values for activator/MDEA molar ratio are considered. ► Fastest absorption rate was achieved for the aqueous solution of AEEA + MDEA.
