Improved carbon dioxide capture using metal reinforced hydrotalcite under wet conditions

► Removal and recovery of carbon dioxide at high temperature under dry and wet conditions were compared. ► Under wet conditions, removal and recovery were enhanced significantly using hydrotalcites. ► The adsorbents were operable for multiple times with relatively small loss of activity. ► Surface diffusion dominated the internal transport of CO2 inside the porous media although strong chemi-sorption might also exist.
