CO2 recovery from mixtures with nitrogen in a vacuum swing adsorber using metal organic framework adsorbent: A comparative study

► MOF CuBTC was used for CO2-N2 separation by Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA). ► A six step single column heavy reflux VSA cycle was evaluated for MOF and Zeolite X. ► The CO2 separation performance of the MOF material was compared with Zeolite X. ► The CO2 purity achieved with Zeolite X was more than MOF CuBTC. ► However, CO2 recoveries obtained with MOF were more than Zeolite.
