Integrated environmental analysis of the main cork products in southern Europe (Catalonia - Spain)

► Cork sector provides a very useful natural, renewable and local resource. ► The main products of the cork sector were quantified and analysed environmentally. ► Cork as material is used to manufacture different products with low emissions. ► Cork sector helps to fix 14.6 tonnes CO2 per t of raw cork converted into main products. ► A single natural cork stopper contributes to fix 234 g CO2 eq. in cork oak forests.
