Magnetic anisotropy factors of vapor deposited CoCr thin films on Si and glass substrates

► Alternating gradient field magnetometry and Brillouin light scattering are used to compute magnetic anisotropy factors. ► Values of the computed effective magnetic anisotropy factors higher than 106 erg cm−3 have been found. ► First, second and effective magnetic anisotropy constants are computed and compared.
