Increase of toll-like receptor 4 but decrease of interleukin-8 mRNA expression among ischemic stroke patients under aspirin treatment

► TLR4 over-expression in mRNA levels is observed in stroke patients. ► Reduction of IL-8 could result from the down-regulation effects of aspirin. ► TLR4 may not sufficient to initiate inflammatory process under aspirin treatment.
