► Myrosinase activity of Brassica. juncea was required for inhibition of nitrification. ► NO generation was stimulated by seed meals independent of myrosinase activity. ► Mineralization was stimulated by B. juncea amendment regardless of myrosinase activity. ► Nematode community composition changed in response to seed meal amendment.
