Monotone solutions to a nonlinear integral equation of convolution type

We provide sufficient conditions under which the unique solution to a nonlinear integral equation of convolution type is monotonic. As a consequence, we obtain information about the asymptotic behaviour of the solution in situations where previous results fail to apply.
