Haloperidol-loaded polysorbate-coated polymeric nanocapsules increase its efficacy in the antipsychotic treatment in rats

Haloperidol-loaded polysorbate-coated nanocapsules (H-Nc) showed nanometric size with high efficiency of encapsulation (>95%). When compared to free haloperidol (H-F), H-Nc showed higher therapeutic efficacy on the mania animal model, and reduced extrapyramidal side-effects (catalepsy and dyskinesia).
