The development of a sensitive and specific ELISA for mouse eosinophil peroxidase: Assessment of eosinophil degranulation ex vivo and in models of human disease

►High avidity anti-EPX monoclonal antibodies were created by sensitizing EPX knockout mice. ►The EPX-based ELISA displays no crossreactivity with other mammalian peroxidases such as MPO. ►Assessments using EPX-based ELISA demonstrate that EPX expression is eosinophil specific. ►EPX-based ELISA affords 10-times the sensitivity relative to competing enzymatic assays.
