Ex vivo purification and characterization of human invariant natural killer T cells

► Ex vivo analyses of human iNKT cells are complicated by their rarity in blood. ► We present a rapid and efficient method for iNKT cell purification. ► The method combines gradient centrifugation, magnetic bead separation and FACS. ► iNKT cells purified by this method show preserved effector functions in vitro.
