⺠Telomerase is a universal cancer therapeutic target. ⺠Telomerase confers limitless replicative potential to cancer cells, a hallmark of cancer. ⺠Telomerase inhibitors are currently in clinical trials: Imetelstat, a direct telomerase antagonist; Gene therapy targeting telomerase expressing cells; Immunotherapy targeting telomerase specific peptides.
