The His155Tyr (489C>T) single nucleotide polymorphism of P2RX7 gene confers an enhanced function of P2X7 receptor in immune cells from patients with rheumatoid arthritis

► The association between P2RX7 gene SNPs and SLE or RA was evaluated. ► 489 C > T and 1096 C > G SNPs of P2RX7 gene are not associated to SLE or RA. ► 489 C > T SNP of P2X7 is associated with altered responses to ATP in RA patients.
