Une éthique anti-déontologique ?

In a time where an increasing number of French midwives are undertaking scientific research (in particular social science research), this article wishes to highlight the tensions that may arise due to discrepancies between our midwifery code of ethics and the modalities of field investigation. Using the example of a PhD's research on perineum practices (episiotomy and perineoraphy) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, this article not only illustrates the abundance of data produced by such research, but also the hurdles that a midwife may face along the way.
