Les dimensions physiques et psychosociales des diagnostics infirmiers auprès des personnes âgées atteintes de déficits cognitifs : une étude mixte

The study shows that there are some difficulties in managing, through nursing diagnosis, the psychosocial and environmental dimensions of elderly people with cognitive deficit. This study resulted in a plan to develop training in advanced nursing practice enabling staff to improve their understanding of and the way they work with this vulnerable population. A nurse practitioner trained in geriatric psychiatry should be able to make such diagnoses and thereby support the caregiving teams in adopting better practices with regard to elderly people with cognitive deficiencies.
