Plasma levels of Apolipoprotein A1 and Lecithin:Cholesterol Acyltransferase in type 2 diabetes mellitus: Correlations with haptoglobin phenotypes

The reduced levels of LCAT and ApoA1 observed in this study support the suggestion that T2DM patients with Hp2-2 phenotype could have altered RCT mechanism and increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
