Puncture Protocol in the Diagnostic Work-Up of a Suspected Chronic Prosthetic Joint Infection of the Hip

Obtaining multiple good quality tissue biopsies in a sterile environment will contribute to the diagnosis of a chronic PJI of the hip, with a higher diagnostic accuracy compared with ultrasound-guided thin needle biopsies and compared with synovial fluid culture alone.
