In the clinical work on sensitive aspects, such as anorexia or the awakening of coma, the return of and to sensoriality asks the analyst and the patient to navigate between free association and isolation. After having redefined these two processes, the authors will show how the scientific knowledge may be integrated into the cure process and how it allows the work on different registers governed by transference laws. Authors present, through the analysis of a clinical sequence, a working method referred to psychoanalytic epistemology integrating the complexity of scientific knowledge. They intend to demonstrate both how the “body-word” symbolizes perception, and how the “right word” represents perception by metaphor. These words have a metaphoric function of “myelination” facilitating both the framing of perception and the access to secondary symbolization processes.
