Infusion of hypertonic saline before elective hysterectomy: effects on cytokines and stress hormones

Infusion of a clinically relevant dose of hypertonic saline before hysterectomy appears to have limited effect on the postoperative concentration of selected plasma cytokines and the hormonal stress-response.
