Preconditioning effects of levosimendan in coronary artery bypass grafting-a pilot study

Patients receiving a short infusion of levosimendan before CABG showed evidence of less myocardial damage, suggestive of a preconditioning effect. Larger outcome studies are thus indicated to confirm benefit.
