Récupération après insuffisance rénale aiguë

Acute kidney injury (AKI) has been associated with an increase risk of chronic kidney disease. Repair after AKI might be inadaptative with recovey not being ad integrum. This renal scar appears to be due to activation of fibrotic processes. A nephrologist follow-up after an episode of AKI has been proposed, with the goal of early detecting sustained alteration of renal function and risk of chronic kidney disease. Of note, no specific measure has been identified so far to limit the consequences of the AKI and prevent chronic kidney damage.
