CARS development in Asia

Development of CARS (computer assisted radiology and surgery) in Asia is described. First, chronological change of presented papers in past international conferences such as CARS (computer assisted radiology and surgery) since 1985 is illustrated in terms of topics which are grouped into 6 main categories. Second, share of Asian presentations by percentage is shown. It is pointed out that Asians, especially Japanese have been active in the field of surgery related computer application and computer aided diagnosis as well as radiology related topics. Asian countries other than Japan are expected to be growing up in research and development of those areas in THE next few years.
