On screening for Down syndrome

The main issue in prenatal screening for Down syndrome is counselling. Pregnant women, caregivers and policy makers should understand the principle of prenatal screening. If they do so, then during the counselling process the issue will be the concept of prenatal screening and not the prenatal screening test itself.
