Maternité chez les femmes en situation de précarité

The number of people living in precarious situations is increasing in our society. We searched for a link between precarious living conditions and maternal and neonatal morbidity as well as a possible impact on gyneco-obstetric characteristics. A prospective study of 120 women (60 exposed and 60 non-exposed to precarious living conditions) allowed us to identify several significant differences between our two samples. Women living in precarious conditions were selected on the basis of administrative criteria for social welfare (CMU and AME). We conclude that equal access to care does not necessarily guarantee perfect equity in terms of health care.
