Considering the toxicity of the additives used, the poor knowledge of the nature of exposure, the possible combined toxic effects and the high levels of dust concentration in workplace atmospheres, occupational exposure must be lowered in this industry. This goal could be achieved by modification of processes, modification of the physical state of additives and installation of local exhaust ventilations. Removal of some additives in 2006 will conduct to introduce new additives that will have to be carefully assessed for occupational risks.
