Les problèmes de tenue de tête chez l'enfant IMOC

Head holding problems result from hypotonia or dystonia of the neck muscles. They are generally seen in neurologic diseases and particularly in cerebral palsy. In this paper, we describe the principal clinical elements and share our experience with orthotic treatment applied on the head, the neck or the whole body to correct a poor head position. We also describe other designs of more conventional orthopedic systems, and discuss adjustments we have made in the dynamic helmet head orthesis and the asymetric helicoidal orthesis which we invented for the treatment of dystonia with head rotation.
