Temas de actualidad en estimulación cardíaca

A high number of medical papers related to cardiac pacing have been published in the last year. Most of them include trial results and relevant clinic information useful for our patients. In this article, we describe basic concepts of pacemaker technology and some of the most interesting current topics in cardiac pacing. We highlighted those related to the reduction in the deleterious effects of rightventricular pacing, new algorithms to improve hemodynamic parameters in patients with pacemakers and considerations about therapy in advanced congestive heart failure using cardiac pacing.
