Histerectomía en la perimenopausia. Adenomiosis

In our study, the most frequent indication for non-oncological hysterectomy in perimenopausal women was uterine myoma. Within the group of hysterectomies for menometrorrhagia that did not respond to medical treatment and was classified as dysfunctional uterine bleeding, 80% of the surgical specimens from hysterectomy showed adenomyosis, explaining the lack of treatment response. In view of these results, endometrial resection is likely to be unsuccessful in these patients. Currently, hysterectomy is the most effective therapeutic option.
