Induction of tumor necrosis factor-α in Schwann cells after gradual elongation of rat sciatic nerve

Gradual nerve elongation by limb lengthening induces production of TNFa in Schwann cells. Presumably, TNFa plays a critical role in the adaptation of peripheral nerves to elongation.
