Hip arthroscopy: Indications and technique

Hip arthroscopy has gained increasing popularity over the last two decades. Improvements in techniques and technology have aided in the expansion of the indications for hip arthroscopy. Common indications include loose bodies, labral tears, chondral lesions, synovial disease, septic arthritis, early degenerative arthritis, and ligamentum teres ruptures. However complications such as nerve injuries, pressure sores, instrument breakage, fluid extravasation, and iatrogenic intraarticular injuries do occur.
